Artist's Statement

‍“Last Chance” depicts an abandoned gas station set against the backdrop of the western plains. The scene is characterized by a snow-covered field, tinted in varying shades of purple under the early dawn light. The gas station, with regular and unleaded pumps, stands as a relic of a forgotten era, common in the outskirts of the plains.

The composition emphasizes the vastness of the prairie, with distant mountains adding depth to the scene. The color palette is dominated by purples, greens, and blues, from the purple snow to the cool greens of the mountains and the cerulean blue sky tinged with the approaching dawn.

The artwork aims to capture the emptiness and desolation of abandoned spaces, while also highlighting the natural beauty of the landscape. It invites viewers to reflect on themes of neglect, isolation, and the passage of time in remote areas of the western plains.
